cresta run [video clip]

The Cresta Run is a tobogganing run based in St Moritz, Switzerland. The ice run winds down a valley for three quarters of a mile with a gradient varying between 1 in 2.8 to 1 in 8.7. Every winter season it is built and destroyed and because it is constructed by hand, it is never quite the same. Riders hurtle down headfirst on toboggans reaching speeds of up to 140km/h! Every so often riders crash out of the run when dealing with the more difficult bends, one of which, the most challenging is called ‘Shuttlecock.’

It is proudly one of the last amateur sports in the world and is remarkably old with the first major race commencing way back in 1885! Originally started by the English, Cresta riders now hail from around the globe and enjoy very unique traditions and share a remarkable winter culture in St Moritz.

We film and photograph all the action including all riding i.e. Practice, races and prize-giving’s along with formal and informal club events. We produce day videos, personal compilations and Season Highlights. We have been engaged in this interest for three winters and have a healthy footage library maxed with all the action.
